Extours was created by Bobbie, our founder and host of many of our events. Educated to a high level in history, heritage, and archaeology, and with years of experience as a paranormal investigator, Bobbie has a real passion for uncovering the past and bringing it to life for others. Every member of the Extours team shares this love for history and the paranormal, each bringing their own expertise and unique perspective from a variety of backgrounds.
Our events take you to some of the most iconic historic and haunted locations the South West of England has to offer. Through detailed research, we uncover the forgotten secrets and surprising stories hidden within these places. And for those seeking something spookier, we also visit sites with long histories of ghost sightings and paranormal tales.
Our unique experiences have earned amazing feedback and consistent 5-star ratings. But don’t just take our word for it — have a look at the incredible reviews from people who have joined us, shared unforgettable moments, and left with stories of their own.
Whether you want to explore the often-forgotten (and sometimes darker) side of history, discover surprising new perspectives on familiar places, or step into the thrill of a real paranormal investigation, you’ve come to the right place. With our unique blend of history and the supernatural, we promise an experience you’ll remember.
At the heart of Extours is a passion for uncovering the hidden stories of our past — and for raising awareness of why they matter. So much history is overlooked, tucked away in the familiar places we pass every day. By bringing these forgotten tales to light, we hope to inspire curiosity and encourage the preservation of our heritage.
What makes Extours different is the way we blend rich historical storytelling with the thrill of interactive paranormal investigation, this unique blend allows us to deliver a ghost tour like no other. Many of us have spent years exploring the unknown, and we’ve experienced phenomena that convince us there’s more to the afterlife than we fully understand. We wanted to create a space where anyone — from seasoned investigators to complete newcomers — can step into that mystery for themselves.
Our events are designed to immerse you in both history and the unexplained. You might stand in a centuries-old building learning about its hidden past, and then moments later, take part in a real paranormal investigation to see if any lingering echoes of that past remain. By linking the unexplained phenomena we sometimes encounter to the stories of the people who once lived there, we bring a new depth to history — and a unique kind of connection that’s hard to find anywhere else.
We’re a team of passionate history enthusiasts who are constantly surprised by the stories hiding in plain sight. It’s always rewarding to watch our guests marvel at the rich heritage they never knew was right on their doorstep — and, for some, to watch a healthy scepticism give way to curiosity or even belief after experiencing something they can’t explain.
That’s why Extours was created: to bring people together, to share the stories of the past, and to offer a one-of-a-kind chance to explore the fascinating line between history and the paranormal.
If you’ve joined one of my events, you’ll already know I’m very much a people person with a passion for history — especially the rich and sometimes mysterious past of the South West. Not only do I host many of our events, I’m also busy behind the scenes dreaming them up and putting all the pieces together.
Much of my time is spent researching, digging deep to uncover the more elusive stories from our past — tales you won’t usually find in “popular” histories. Many of these fall into what’s often called “dark history,” but we like to keep our tours light-hearted, making sure everyone has a great time while creating lasting memories together.
Another of my great passions is exploring the supernatural. Over the years I’ve had my fair share of unexplainable experiences through paranormal investigations, and I love creating events that give others the chance to experience the same. There’s nothing quite like sharing strange and fascinating phenomena with a group — and seeing first-hand how many sceptics leave as believers!
Fiona joined Extours in early September 2023 and has already garnered fantastic feedback. With over 30 years of broadcasting experience in TV, radio, and theatre, Fiona is a trained journalist, voice-over artiste, and actor. Her passion for history, exquisite architecture, and antiques is unmistakable. Fiona's journey into the paranormal began at a young age through her own supernatural encounters and she is eager to explore the mysterious world of the paranormal with you further as she hosts our ghost walks.
Lauren joined Extours at the end of 2024 and she is very excited to be a part of our growing team! As a freelance actor, having trained at The Oxford School of Drama, storytelling and entertaining audiences are what she does best. Growing up in North Dorset, she is currently studying Journalism and Creative Writing at Falmouth University, Cornwall. Therefore, she is eager to raise awareness around the wonderful history and heritage that the South West has to offer, and advocate for the forgotten voices of the past. Of course, there will be some spooky investigations and unexplainable phenomena along our way, if you choose to join us - I hope to meet many of you on our ghost walks in the coming months!
We are thrilled to welcome Ben to the Extours team! Ben is an experienced actor specialising in immersive theatrical experiences. Duff is our newest recruit and is thrilled to be joining the Extours team!
With a deep passion for history, ghost stories, and the paranormal, Duff is right at home leading our ghost walks. His natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge make history an endlessly fascinating subject for him.
His interest in the supernatural runs deep—so much so that he once sat in on a spiritualist ‘circle,’ which led to some near-unbelievable experiences… the kind you have to see to believe!
Outside of ghostly storytelling, Duff is no stranger to the spotlight. A former CBBC TV presenter, he now works as a live event host for a variety of companies and occasions. He loves meeting new people and can’t wait to share ghostly tales and fascinating insights from our forgotten past with you!
Meet Kate, the newest member of the Extours team. She’ll be guiding tours in some of our favourite Somerset locations, sharing her unique blend of history, myth, and a touch of mystery. Here are some words from Kate:
"A natural storyteller with an eclectic background in tourism, writing and retreats, Kate weaves our local historical facts with folklore and tall tales. As a member of two Druid Orders she also has a particular passion for Britain’s mythic archetypes, sacred sites, and those age-old stories whispered down to us through time.
Since childhood Kate has experienced more than her fair share of mysterious happenings and she brings her lived experiences to every tour she leads. With a notable sense of humour and maybe just a twinkle of mischief, Kate invites you to see the world a little differently, remember history as if you were right there, and to maybe, just maybe, keep one eye on the shadows"
Meet Kathy, the newest member of the Extours team. She’ll be guiding tours in some of our favourite Cornwall locations. Here are some words from Kathy:
"Kathy joined the Extours team in August 2025 having returned to her homeland of Cornwall, with a thirst for exploring local heritage through storytelling and performance. Always diving into museums around the country, she has steadily built up a repertoire of knowledge focussing on social history.
Everyday stories with everyday people naturally lead into local legends, myths and things that just can’t be explained – something that Kathy has experienced her fair share of throughout her childhood years. Now she’s excited to share these local legends and stories with you as you join her on your journey into the unknown…
As our feedback shows, many have described our Ghost Walks as the perfect combination of history and paranormal. We like to focus on the forgotten and often gruesome historical stories and less well known events from our past. Not only will you also hear a range of weird and wonderful ghost stories and accounts of supernatural encounters (both old and new), you will also have the opportunity to get involved and use some paranormal investigation devices for yourself as we carry out our very own short investigations on the walk, the aim of which is to give participants an idea of what it is like to experience real paranormal investigation. If you are lucky, and brave, you might have a personal seemingly unexplainable experience like many others who have joined us have. Don't want to get involved? No problem, you are welcome to come along and witness first hand the paranormal activity that we might encounter.
From abandoned settlements and ancient chapels to haunted hotels and historic castles we aim to seek out some of the most haunted locations to carry out our paranormal investigation evenings. There will be a wide range of devices that you will have the opportunity to use on these events. For the braver participants there will also be the option to carry out some intriguing paranormal experiments. Dates will be added as they become available for paranormal investigation evenings so be sure to keep an eye on the website and our social media pages.
