Whether you are hoping to learn more from the forgotten (and often darker side) of our past, would like to learn surprising stories which will give new perspectives of familiar places, or perhaps would like to see how it feels to take part in a real paranormal investigation. Look no further - our unique blend of history and paranormal promise to provide a memorable experience
As a team of passionate history enthusiasts, we're constantly surprised by the hidden stories waiting to be uncovered in our local areas. There’s so much to learn about the landmarks and forgotten spaces many pass by every day without knowing their stories. That’s another reason why we created Extours—to offer an experience that brings these overlooked parts of our past to life. During our events, it’s always rewarding to see our guests marvel at the rich history they never realized was right in their own backyard.
Beyond history, we’re equally fascinated by the paranormal. Many of us have years of experience in paranormal investigation and have seen firsthand how compelling the experience can be. We realized that many people share this interest but haven’t had the chance to try it themselves—so we thought, why not combine our love for history with our passion for the unexplained? By blending these two elements, we create an immersive environment where guests can learn about local history and have a unique opportunity to experience paranormal investigation. This combination not only adds depth to the historical context but also can allow us to connect unexplained phenomena we encounter to the stories of the past, enriching the experience for everyone involved.
Not only do I host many our events I am also the one working behind the scenes putting them together. If you have joined us for an event hosted by myself then you will know that I am very much a people person with a passion for history, in particular the history of the south west.
I spend much of my time researching in a hope to unearth the more elusive stories from our past, most of which are not included in “popular” histories. Many of these stories are regarded as “dark history” although we like to keep things light-hearted and ensure that a good time is had by everyone joining us. This is one of the things I love most about what we do at Extours, it is amazing to bring a group of people together and have a great night, creating good memories in the process.
Another passion of mine is exploring the supernatural, I've had so many unexplainable experiences through carrying out paranormal investigations in my own time and it is great to be in a position where I can create an environment which allows others to experience this kind of thing. Being able to share seemingly unexplainable phenomenon with others, allowing you to experience the kind of thing that got me interested in exploring the paranormal, is something else I love about our unique events. Lots of people have had some amazing experiences and many who joined the events as skeptics have left as believers!
Fiona joined Extours in early September 2023 and has already garnered fantastic feedback. With over 30 years of broadcasting experience in TV, radio, and theatre, Fiona is a trained journalist, voice-over artiste, and actor. Her passion for history, exquisite architecture, and antiques is unmistakable. Fiona's journey into the paranormal began at a young age through her own supernatural encounters and she is eager to explore the mysterious world of the paranormal with you further as she hosts our ghost walks.

As someone who's spent most of their life in Wiltshire, I'm always keen to share local histories and mysteries with others, and to learn more about this beautiful county. For a few years now, I've had a deep interest in all things Pagan, Witchcraft and paranormal, and I'm eager to experience the opportunities that Extours can provide to meet more like-minded people. I'm so excited to work with the Extours team, and to hopefully meet you all on the Salisbury Ghost Walk this October!
Lauren joined Extours at the end of 2024 and she is very excited to be a part of our growing team! As a freelance actor, having trained at The Oxford School of Drama, storytelling and entertaining audiences are what she does best. Growing up in North Dorset, she is currently studying Journalism and Creative Writing at Falmouth University, Cornwall. Therefore, she is eager to raise awareness around the wonderful history and heritage that the South West has to offer, and advocate for the forgotten voices of the past. Of course, there will be some spooky investigations and unexplainable phenomena along our way, if you choose to join us - I hope to meet many of you on our ghost walks in the coming months!
As our feedback shows, many have described our Ghost Walks as the perfect combination of history and paranormal. We like to focus on the forgotten and often gruesome historical stories and less well known events from our past. Not only will you also hear a range of weird and wonderful ghost stories and accounts of supernatural encounters (both old and new), you will also have the opportunity to get involved and use some paranormal investigation devices for yourself as we carry out our very own short investigations on the walk, the aim of which is to give participants an idea of what it is like to experience real paranormal investigation. If you are lucky, and brave, you might have a personal seemingly unexplainable experience like many others who have joined us have. Don't want to get involved? No problem, you are welcome to come along and witness first hand the paranormal activity that we might encounter.
From abandoned settlements and ancient chapels to haunted hotels and historic castles we aim to seek out some of the most haunted locations to carry out our paranormal investigation evenings. There will be a wide range of devices that you will have the opportunity to use on these events. For the braver participants there will also be the option to carry out some intriguing paranormal experiments. Dates will be added as they become available for paranormal investigation evenings so be sure to keep an eye on the website and our social media pages.
