The Creation of Extours
Extours was founded on the belief that our history shouldn’t be allowed to fade into silence — especially the stories and mysteries that helped to shape the world around us. While completing his degree and working at Dunster Castle, Extours founder Bobbie realised just how much extraordinary forgotten history, heritage, folklore and unexplained experiences were overlooked in the familiar places we all take for granted. Determined to bring these stories back into focus, and to encourage their preservation, he created Extours as a way to explore the past with honesty, curiosity and a balance of historical research and authentic paranormal investigation.
A core part of that vision was giving people the chance to experience real paranormal investigation — not staged scares, but thoughtful, responsible exploration. We never try to persuade anyone to believe; instead, we focus on authenticity, careful observation and allowing guests to draw their own conclusions. After years of conducting investigations himself, Bobbie recognised how many others wanted to try this work first-hand, making it a natural and meaningful addition to our events. Our aim is never to frighten or sensationalise, but to create something intriguing, respectful and genuinely memorable.

If you’ve joined one of my events, you’ll already know I’m a people person with a deep passion for history — especially the rich and often mysterious past of the South West. While completing my degree and working at Dunster Castle, I became fascinated by how much extraordinary history, heritage and folklore sits unnoticed in the places we walk through every day. Extours grew from a desire to bring these stories back into focus and to create experiences that genuinely connect people with the past.
With years of experience in historical research and hands-on paranormal investigation, I wanted to offer something different from the theatrical ghost tours most people expect — something more authentic, more curious, and more meaningful. Every event is shaped with care, detail and respect: real stories, real investigation, and space for guests to think, question and experience things for themselves.

You do not have to get involved, if preferred you are welcome to observe the investigations from a distance.
